An anonymous source familiar with the case of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said federal prosecutors knew of "prior misdeeds" Hastert committed against potentially several alleged victims that were not included in Thursday's indictment, BuzzFeed News reported Friday.
Thinly sourced - one anonymous person - but not inconsistent of what we know of pedophiles.
The Chicago Sun Times provides more information, but it's still from that one anonymous source.
LA Times has the source as a "top federal law enforcement official".
A top federal law enforcement official, who would not be identified speaking about the ongoing federal case, said investigators also spoke with a second man who raised similar allegations that corroborated what the former student said. The second person was not being paid by Hastert, the official said.
Hastert had another access to victims: he was a Boy Scout leader for an Explorer post (older boys).

Underwood said some wrestlers also were in the Explorer Post, a Scouting group with which Hastert was involved. The group took trips to the Grand Canyon and to canoe in Minnesota, he said. The Boy Scouts of America's Three Fires Council gave Hastert a distinguished service award in 2001. According to Scouting magazine in 2001, Hastert served as a Boy Scout volunteer for 17 years with Explorer Post 540 of Yorkville.
I think the floodgates just moved an inch or two. I expect more victims.
1:58 PM PT: I was just reminded of Mark Foley. Remember him? The GOP Congressman who was sexting teen interns in 2006? Assumed to be gay, never came out after resigning his office?
Over on TPM, Josh is wondering if the ham-handed way Hastert responded to the Foley case was because he knew a fervent denunciation of Foley might bring down the wrath of his own victims.
