Not much to say, other than this: I gave to Bernie Sanders' campaign yesterday and it's been a long time since I've given money to a candidate and had a real sense that my donation - and the policies I support - won't just be taken for granted. It's kind of amazing that such a feeling is possible, considering we're in a post-Citizens United world where donations with a ton of zeroes after them can provide a candidate's funding and small time donors aren't really necessary to fund a campaign.
But Bernie's able to give me that feeling for two important reasons:
1) What he advocates definitely won't attract billionaires willing to write checks for his campaign and if they did, he wouldn't accept them.
2) Bernie's been consistent with his policy prescriptions for many, many years. This isn't a poll-tested liberal message meant to tap into a populist vein in the primary electorate only to ditch it when it's no longer needed to fool us progressives.
Just had to get that out there. Cheers!
